Architects of Air seeks to bring a visual surprise and excitement into the environment and to create the optimum conditions where people can be moved to a sense of wonder through the particular phenomenon of luminous colour.
Architects of Air is based in Nottingham UK, in a 4000 sq ft former textile workshop.
AoA usually commits 6 months per year in the winter off-season to create a new luminarium, and can have as many as four luminaria on exhibition at any one time during the summer. Since 1992 AoA has made over 500 exhibitions in 37 countries.

Inflatables have been around for a long time. The Romans had airbeds made of leather skins sewn together and there are even earlier records of inflated animal skins being used as flotation devices to cross rivers.

San Zhi, Taiwan is an abandoned vacation resort on the northern coast of Taiwan. It was built in the early 1980s, but construction of the futuristic resort ceased after a series of fatal accidents. People who have traveled to this resort, didn’t go on vacation, because the resort never opened to the public.

Even though it didn’t open as a vacation resort, San Zhi can still be toured. The strange pod-like buildings act as an awesome tourist area. The colors of the pod-like buildings depend on their location. The buildings in the west are green, in the east pink, in the south blue, and in the north white.

Certain people say that San Zhi is a ghost town.
